When she opened her restaurant Beso,  Eva Longoria had more in mind than just a swanky eatery.  And last night she and her husband Tony Parker hosted the EA Sports video game launch of “NBA LIVE 09” at the high-end Hollywood hot spot.
Always looking their best, Eva sported a satin pink tank-style top with slim fit jeans and matching heels, while Tony rocked a graphite-colored button-up shirt with distressed grey jeans and black sneakers.

The “Desperate Housewives” star is expanding her Los Angeles restaurant Beso to Las Vegas, but with a nightlife twist, reports E! News. Beso’s Hollywood location includes a celeb-packed upstairs lounge called Kiss where stars like Victoria Beckham, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel can be found relaxing.

“Kiss inside Beso has been evolving into a VIP spot,” a source tells the entertainment website, “so the Vegas venture will spin off Kiss as a lounge and nightclub.” Longoria Parker opened the Latin eatery in LA in March and is now apparently looking for real estate in some big-name casinos.

“She’s been spotted spending quite a bit of time at Caesar’s Palace recently,” another source tells E! News.” She is looking to open a restaurant somewhere on the Strip.”

First, a confession: until I ate at Eva Longoria’s new restaurant in Los Angeles this month, I had only the vaguest notion who she was. I knew, sort of, that she had something to do with Desperate Housewives, a hugely popular show to which I remain innocent of exposure. I knew as well she was a staple of the celebrity press, which was driven to new heights of frenzy by her wedding last year to San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker.

Because I’m not a reader of Maxim, I did not know the 33-year-old Longoria was named “the hottest woman in the world” by the estimable men’s magazine in 2005 and 2006. (She slumped to ninth after her marriage last year — perhaps Maxim sees sexual availability as a prerequisite for hotness.)

And I somehow missed her appearances in the 2006 movies The Sentinel and Harsh Times, and her latest celluloid epic, Over Her Dead Body, which played briefly in Ottawa in February. Still, when LA Inc., Los Angeles’ visitors and convention bureau, said it could arrange dinner at Beso, as Longoria’s new eatery on Hollywood Boulevard is called, it didn’t take me long to say yes.

A quick consultation with Dr. Google disclosed that the restaurant, which opened last month, is one of L.A.’s current hot spots, drawing such celebrities as Sheryl Crow, Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Simpson.

All that star power has attracted a swarm of paparazzi to Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, which passes by Beso’s door. As an added inducement, Eva herself has been greeting celebrity friends and other guests some nights, raising the prospect of face time with the former two-time hottest woman in the world.

Busy babe Eva Longoria Parker can add another gig to her resume: restaurateur. The Desperate Housewives actress and Bebe model is hosting the grand opening of her restaurant Beso tonight, and judging by the throngs of people and paparazzi outside, all of Hollywood wants in.

Outside on the red carpet, Eva’s not afraid to brag about her culinary skills. “I can make a meal from anything. I can cook anything! My guacamole is pretty famous,” she dishes. “My tortilla soup, which is on the menu, I really love.” Eva’s husband, Tony Parker, is at a game tonight, which is just as well as it sounds like Eva’s got him beat in the kitchen. “He only makes spaghetti!” she says.

Eva Longoria’s long awaited American Mexican restaurant ‘Beso’ had a star studded opening in Hollywood, CA, Thursday, March 6. Eva’s husband, Tony Parker, did not attend the event but their partner, good friend and chef Todd English was by her side. The petite Latino actress looked beautiful in an exquisite short sleeveless white sequin dress with ruffled hem. A wide satin band on the waist and frilly lace on the V-Neckline, shoulders and the hem accented the dress. Her white ankle strap peep toe sandals matched the dress. She had styled her hair with a side fringe and a loose bun at the back.

Those present at the opening included James Denton, Lisa and Brittny Gastineau, Nicollette Sheridan, William H Macy, Kim Kardashian, Roselyn Sanchez, Sheryl Crow, Felicity Huffman, Karina Smirnoff, Mario Lopez, Constance Marie, Dana Delany, Christine Lakin, Sarah Lancaster and Eric Winter.

Menu at Beso, which means Kiss in Spanish, includes two Longoria family recipes - the guacamole and the tortilla soup. “I make the best guacamole in the world,” says Eva. “And my tortilla soup for which I am renowned for.” The opening bash was sponsored by Hornitos tequila.
