Eva’s Not That Desperate
Tuesday, August 5th, 2008Sometimes less is more, especially when it comes to sexy lingerie, but Eva Longoria doesn’t feel that way. Eva’s rocked some seriously sexy lingerie while playing Gabrielle Solis on ‘Desperate Housewives’ in the past, but she admits she’s been trying to tone it down lately.
She says, “I’m always saying, ‘Isn’t that a bit much?’ to some of the lingerie. So I try on a lot of the lingerie and I veto a lot (…) I have said no to some very cheeky underwear. I do not like to do that. And I’ve said no to different bras that do different things.“
Eva can look hot in a brown potato bag, so it really doesn’t matter what she’s wearing–or in this case, what she isn’t wearing.

Check out who made the Emmys shortlist for Best Comedy Actress!
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008The Emmys shortlists keep trickling in over at the swashbuckling Gold Derby — here are the 10 baked hams in the running for America’s Next Top Comedy Actress:
• Christina Applegate, Samantha Who? (”The Restraining Order”)
• Marcia Cross, Desperate Housewives (”Now You Know”)
• America Ferrera, Ugly Betty (”Odor in the Court”)
• Tina Fey, 30 Rock (”Sandwich Day”)
• Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies (”Bitter Sweets”)
• Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives (”Now I Know, Don’t Be Scared”)
• Eva Longoria Parker, Desperate Housewives (”In Buddy’s Eyes”)
• Julia Louis-Dreyfus, New Adventures of Old Christine (”One and a Half Men”)
• Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds (”Bill Sussman”)
• Sarah Silverman, The Sarah Silverman Program (”Bored of the Rings”)
Our selected image suggests we care that OMG TERI HATCHER WAS SNUBBED THIS YEAR. Not really. I’m of the opinion that to expect four actresses from the same not-always-hilarious series to get noms just because they’re equally overexposed off-screen and get relatively equal time on-screen, is ludicrous. (And anyhow, isn’t series newcomer Dana Delany’s omission the real shocker?) Anyhow, I’ll be surprised if Huffman, Longoria, and Cross all get nods in lieu of first-time potential nominees Applegate or Silverman, who carry their own shows. Rejoice or disapprove in the comments below, or if you just don’t know what to think about the shortlist and airport security simply refuses let you through with that attitude, follow the fine example in this clip! Desperate rush for LA trip
Monday, May 26th, 2008The hunt for South Africa’s biggest Desperate Housewives fan is heating up! More than 4000 SMS entries have been received to date, and there is less than a week left to secure your spot at a table with the ladies from Wisteria Lane.
But it will be only one lucky The Times reader and partner who will be a part of our biggest reader competition to date.
The Times is giving away a R150000 prize of a lifetime, which includes a trip to Los Angeles to attend a dinner hosted by Eva Longoria Parker, who plays Gabrielle.
The lucky winner will be accommodated for five nights, treated to a tour of the city, a VIP tour of Universal Studios, where Desperate Housewives is shot — and will be given spending money. All you have to do is answer the last easy question.
The competition ends on May 30, and the winner will be announced in The Times on June 4.

Eva mommy-to-be (spoiler alert)
Monday, May 19th, 2008
… but right now only in “Desperate Housewives”. Last night’s season final revealed some details of what Wisteria Lane be like in 5 years.
Eva was seen as a very desperate-looking housewife who looks like said goodbye to Dolce & Gabbana (or should I rather say never even seen it). Model-turned-mommy Gabby appears to be raising two daughters. Juanita and Celia were seen playing with Gabby’s makeup and clothes.
USA Today asked Eva Longoria about Kaila Say and Daniella Baltodano, who play Gabby and Carlos’ daughters.
She said, “They are adorable. But I’m not excited about working with children because I’m a really fast shooter. I like to get in and get out and go home to my husband, and children tend to slow that process down. But I am excited about the comedic opportunities.” Yikes!
But lets just hope they will cast some type of Marty McFly to come with his time machine to safe their future. If you haven’t seen the last episode (and you already read my teaser) and you want to check the last minutes then click here.
Eva Longoria Not Quitting Desperate Housewives
Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008Eva Longoria Parker has denied reports that she’s set to quit her role on television’s ‘Desperate Housewives‘ to chase a career on the big screen. Longoria Parker shot to fame playing the wealthy Gabriel Solis in the hit tv show and has successfully made the transition into movies starring in ‘The Sentinel‘ alongside Kiefer Sutherland.
The 33-year-old denies she’s leaving the show telling Britain’s Heat magazine that,
“I would be insane to do that. I’m of the opinion that the show will still be running for another five years, at least.”
She adds, “Marc Cherry (the creator of ‘Desperate Housewives’) has all these incredible ideas and plot twists planned for the coming years, and I’m convinced the show will be a success as long as he’s involved.“

‘Desperate Housewives’ rebuilds for the better after the tornado
Wednesday, April 16th, 2008Just before “Desperate Housewives” went on strike hiatus in January, there was a housecleaning, literally. A tornado ripped through Wisteria Lane, leveling some homes, ruining others and taking a good deal of bad karma with it. The gruesome metal fountain sculpture that had become a flash point for conversations about conformity? Gone. The mayor, Victor Lang (John Slattery), new husband to Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria Parker), who was still dabbling with her ex, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira)? Dead. A rapprochement between prim perfectionist Bree (Marcia Cross) and ascendant neighborhood disrupter Katherine (Dana Delany)? A frightening possibility.

Eva Sizes Up Our Housewives’ Spoiler: “I Will Look Different….”
Wednesday, April 16th, 2008What do the Desperate Housewives themselves think about the possible season-ending shockeroo first reported on by TVGuide.com that the closing moments of the season finale will either leap the Wisteria Laners five years into the future or rewind the whole show several years back, to well before Mary Alice offed herself? Speaking to TV’s Extra about the time warps, Eva Longoria Parker said, “We don’t actually know” what exactly DH has planned, but added: “Marc Cherry says that he has something special in store.”
Special as in, “Hey, you’re suddenly older!” or “Hey, you’re suddenly younger“? “I will look different,” Parker said, “but thats all I know.”
