Eva Longoria answers questions during the ABC portion of the Television Critics Association Press Tour held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday in Beverly Hills, Calif. The 33-year-old Desperate Housewives actress explained why she had to gain weight and chopped off her long hair for her character Gabrielle Solis.

Said Eva, “[Creator Marc Cherry] told me last year before the season finale that we wanted her to have the mom haircut, and that she has let herself go because Carlos is blind, she’s had two kids, and she’s just really kind of let go of that vanity. We brainstormed with hair and makeup and wardrobe, and I cut my hair because I didn’t want to wear a wig once he told me how long it was going to last. So yeah, [it’s] butt pads, stomach pads, boob pads,” Eva said. “I love it, because I come to hair and makeup now and it’s 10 minutes instead of two hours. I wake up and go straight to set.”

Eva Longoria Parker has laughed off rumours she is pregnant, insisting her recent weight gain is for her role in TV series Desperate Housewives. The actress claims her new bob-style haircut and slightly fuller figure are a reflection of changes in the life of her on-screen character Gabrielle Solis, who becomes a mother-of-two in the forthcoming fifth season.

The star’s representative, Liza Anderson, tells People.com, “She’s a worn out mother with two kids. And even that (the weight gain) was not enough. She’s also wearing butt pads and a stomach pad to play the part.”

Longoria Parker, 33, has been dodging rumours she is expecting her first child after she was photographed in a bikini with an apparent baby bump while on a European vacation last week.

Everyone loves a celebrity baby and now Angelina Jolie has had her twins it’s down to Eva Longoria to provide us with the next one! The Desperate Housewives actress has been married to her hubby Tony Parker for a year now so we reckon it’s about time she followed in the footsteps of Jolie, Kidman and Aguilera and became the latest celebrity mum! Rumours are circulating that Eva might be planning to get pregnant at the same time as her Posh pal Victoria Beckham…that way they could bring up their LA tots together.

David Beckham allegedly wants a little daughter asap, but Tony Parker hasn’t let the press know what he’d prefer. Eva’s shorter hairstyle would be a lot easier to manage than her long locks so gossip websites are already speculating that she is pregnant with her first child.
The 33-year-old’s rep is so far denying the reports. She told OK magazine: “For the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives (Eva’s character) Gabrielle has “gained” weight and cut her hair.

“She is now a worn-out mother with two kids. Eva has enjoyed a more relaxed environment and will even be wearing butt pads and stomach pads.“

Do we believe the rep? We all remember when Pete Wentz denied that Ashlee Simpson was pregnant. He told MTV.com:

“There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me (…) I can’t wait for the story about how I’m really in a gay relationship and this is all just a cover… I mean, really, this is crazy.“

After they married the lovebirds admitted that Ashlee was having a baby. Is Eva’s rep trying to pull the wool over our eyes?

Responding to rumors that actress Eva Longoria and her husband of one year, basketball star Tony Parker are expecting their first child together, a rep for the Desperate Housewives star has a released a statement explaining Eva’s apparent recent weight gain.

“For the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives [Eva’s character] Gabrielle has “gained” weight and cut her hair,” says the actress’ rep Liza Anderson. “She is now a worn-out mother with two kids. Eva has enjoyed a more relaxed environment and will even be wearing butt pads and stomach pads.”
